Women

On Thursday the 27th September  Nokor Tep Singapore held their first Moonwalk. Over 150 people (plus one dog!) walked just over 10km from one end of East Coast and finished at Chits Bar and Restaurant, close to Changi.

The starting point before the moon appeared

The idea of the moonwalk was conceived after the first walkathon on International Women's day in March of this year. At the time several people said they would have liked to attend but couldn't for a variety of reasons, hence the idea of an evening event and the Moonwalk. It was great to see couples being able to come along as well as families. The timing coincided with the Mid Autumn festival and the full moon which accompanies it, and, indeed the moon was in full view for the whole walk. We did experience quite a lightening storm after everyone had finished but at the end of the day it just added to the atmosphere!

Ticket sales and a number of donations on the night meant that just under $10,500, was raised so definitely a worthwhile evening.

Thank you to all who participated and helped to manage the event. Takes us one step closer to finishing the Nokor Tep Hospital and stopping the silent suffering.
